Weaponised version of ALH Dhruv multi-role helicopter has been named 'RUDRA' the god of tempest in Hindu mythology.
The version is armed with 20mm gun turret,70mm rockets, MBDA Mistral air to air missiles.
The ALH Dhruv was developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd and will be delivered to Indian Army in 2013.
The variant will augment IA's closer air support for infantry along with the Mi-35 and Mi-25 attack helicopters currently operational.
