GE won a $2.4 billion worth order for engines to power Turkish Airlines's new Boeing and Airbus fleets.
The GE's CF6-80E1 engines will power Turkish fleet of 15 firm Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Delivery will begin next year.

The total engine order and OnPoint agreement is valued at more than $1 billion (USD).

The other order is for 15 GE90-115B engines that would power Turkish Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts with options for five additional aircrafts. Delivery will begin in 2014.
This order is worth $1.4 billion

THY has also signed a long-term OnPointSM solutions agreement for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of its both new engines.

At 115,000 pounds of thrust, the GE90-115B engine includes such performance-enhancing features as three-dimensional aerodynamic (3-D aero) compressor and wide-chord, swept composite fan blades for greater efficiency. The dual annular combustor emits no more than 40 percent of the hydrocarbons allowed by today's international standards.
In addition, today’s GE90-115B engines have been enhanced to reduce fuel burn by 36 percent from the 2000 launch specifications.
