Brazilian plane maker Embraer and Italy’s helicopter maker AgustaWestland have dropped their joint-venture plans to produce the AW helicopters in Brazil.
A brief Embraer statement on Wednesday said the two companies jointly decided “to terminate negotiations without reaching an agreement for the establishment of a joint venture in Brazil.”
It gave no explanation for why the talks collapsed.
In January 2013 both companies signed MOU aiming at establishing a joint - venture.
With Embraer as a partner, AgustaWestland planned to offer its AW139 and AW189 medium and super-medium helicopters
