Dutch Fokker Elmo has secured an additional contract from Lockheed Martin for the delivery of additional Electrical Wiring & Interconnection Systems, valued at €40 million. Under this contract, Fokker will be responsible for the manufacturing of electrical systems for the next batch of F-35 aircrafts. Fokker recently delivered the 100th shipset to Lockheed Martin.
Fokker also signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Pratt & Whitney to study added engine nozzle work in the Netherlands to manufacture and deliver nozzle components, sub-assemblies and related spare parts for F135 engine exhaust.
F-135 engine powers the F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter. The LOI wassigned on June 19 at the concluded Paris Air Show.
The Nozzle fabrication is critical to the performance of the F135 engine and made of precision titanium technology still keeping its ultimate stealth signature. Fokker has worked with Pratt & Whitney on this program since 2002.
Fokker Technologies is the group name for four specialized Fokker Business Units: Fokker Aerostructures, Fokker Elmo, Fokker Landing Gear and Fokker Services. Fokker Technologies develops and produces advanced structures and electrical systems for the aerospace and defense industry, and supplies integrated services and products to aircraft owners and operators.
