The fourth edition of India's largest civil aviation exhibition India Aviation 2014 was inaugurated today, by Civil Aviation Minister, Shri Ajit Singh at the Begumpet Airport, Hyderabad. This year's theme of the civil aviation exhibition will be ‘Enhancing Air Connectivity'.
More than 250-exhibitors including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Dassault, Rolls Royce and Russian Helicopters are participating in the event.
The massive four engined Airbus A380 double decker and an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner jet were the major attraction at the show. The five day event is organised by Ministry of Civil Aviation and FICCI.
The show features breath taking aerial manueavers by Mark Jefferies Airshows from Britain, twice daily.
Airbus will showcase the Emirates Airline A380 on static display for the first three days to demonstrate its readiness to operate from Indian airports. India only recently granted approval for A380 operations in India.
Airbus stall also included its full aircraft product range, including the popular single aisle A320, widebody A330, and the next generation A350 XWB and on display stand.
Canadian business jet manufacturer Bombardier showcased its wide body Challenger 605 business jet.
Public sector Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) pavilion consisted models of VIP version of its Advance Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv, Multirole Transport Aircraft (MTA), Dornier Do 228 and under development Light Utility Helicopter (LUH).
Russian Helicopters showcased its current and forthcoming helicopter models to operators from South and South-East Asia. Major attraction is the new multirole Ka-62 helicopter which is built to a single-rotor design with a multi-blade anti-torque rotor ducted into the tail fin, offering enhanced security for passengers and crew during take-off and landing.
French Dassault has its Falcon 7X business jet on static display. Beechcraft is exhibiting its Beechcraft King Air 350ER, King Air 250 and King Air C90GTx and Baron G58.
Indian Carrier SpiceJet placed an order for 42 Next Generation Boeing 737 MAX 8s during the show.
