Bluefin-21 AUV has commenced its eighth mission on Sunday, searching under water for the missing Flight MH370 debris. Joint Agency Coordination Centre (JACC) said the Bluefin-21 has searched approximately 50 per cent of the focused underwater search area to date.
The focused underwater search area is defined as a circle of 10km radius around the second Towed Pinger Locator detection which occurred on 8 April.
Bluefin is expected to complete the search mission in a week. Australian Maritime Safety Authority today completed a visual search of area totaling approximately 48,507 square kilometres, across two areas, using up to 11 military aircrafts and 12 ships.
