Mitsubhishi will begin static strength test of its Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) test aircraft this summer.

The static strength test will inspect the aircraft's airframe strength and validate safety standards.

Two test aircrafts will be used for the airframe tests, one for static strength test and other for fatigue test.

Mitsubishi has transferred the static strength test aircraft from its final-assembly factory at Komaki to the strength test station to start preparations for the static strength test.

MRJ is a family of 70~90-seat next-generation aircraft featuring the Pratt & Whitney's PurePower® geared turbofan engine and state-of-the-art aerodynamics to reduce fuel consumption, noise, and emissions, while offering heightened passenger flying comfort.
