Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) delivered the first batch of T129 ATAK Advanced Attack and Tactical Reconnaissance Helicopters to Turkish Armed Forces on 22nd of April 2014.
The program started in 2007, as a joint venture between TAI and AgustaWestland for 91 helicopters.
T129 ATAK is a tandem two-seat, twin engine helicopter specifically designed for attack and reconnaissance purposes.
T129 ATAK, developed from the combat proven AgustaWestland A129CBT helicopter, incorporating new LHTEC CTS 800-4A turboshaft engine, new avionics, visionics and weapons, modified airframe, uprated drive train and new tail rotor.
The T129 ATAK has completed over 4000 hours of flight testing prior to delivery.
