Airbus cancels Skymark's six A380 order

Airbus has terminated the six A380 airliner purchase agreement with the Japanese Skymark Airlines.

Airbus has terminated the six A380 airliner purchase agreement with the Japanese Skymark Airlines.

Airbus sighted no reason for the cancellation of order, but reports suggests, Airbus had concerns about Skymark's ability to pay for the deal, due to weaker yen.

The cancellation is a big blow to Airbus as it is struggling to win orders for its four engined Super Jumbo aircraft. Skymark is the only Japanese carrier to have ordered the A380.

Under the deal signed in 2011, Airbus had completed one aircraft, which is now undergoing flight tests.

Airbus had earlier completed assembly of one A380 under the deal.
