Boeing completed the delivery of Canada’s 15th and final CH-147F Chinook helicopter on June 30.

The final CH-147F arrived at Royal Canadian Air Force’s 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, Ontario, on June 3.

The entire fleet were delivered over the course of a year.
The Canadian CH-147F heavy to medium lift helicopter features a modernized airframe with a long-range fuel system allowing it to fly twice as far as standard range models.

An upgraded electrical system provides additional power and redundancy, while a fully integrated Common Avionics Architecture System cockpit and Digital Automatic Flight Control System reduce pilot workload and provide greater situational awareness.
The Chinook is equipped with a laser-based active missile counter-measure system, as well as a chaff and flare dispensing system to thwart anti-aircraft missiles, radar and laser warning system, a full armour kit for ballistic protection from small arms fire, three defensive machine guns: two forward door guns and one on the aft ramp.

A state-of-the-art Electro-Optical/Infra-Red sensor allows the helicopter to operate effectively in very low light or reduced visibility conditions.
The tandem rotor Chinook can carry 33 fully equipped combat troops or 11,363 kilograms of cargo.

Boeing will provide a 20 year support to the CH-147F fleet under a Performance-Based Logistics contract.
The multi mission Chinook is primarily used to transport equipment and personnel during operations, respond to humanitarian emergencies such as fire, floods, and earthquakes.
