Eurofighter and NETMA (NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency) has signed an agreement to integrate the Storm Shadow long range attack cruise missile onto the Eurofighter Typhoon.

The £120 million agreement was signed by NETMA, Eurofighter, and the four core nations of the Eurofighter Program (the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and Germany) at the Farnborough Air Show on Thursday.

Eurofighter will work with the three Partner Companies (BAE Systems, Airbus Space & Defence, and Alenia Aermacchi) and their supply base including MBDA, the makers of the Storm Shadow missile - to integrate the weapon on the aircraft. The Contract will form part of what is known as the P2E enhancement package.

Storm Shadow integrated flight trials on Typhoon have been progressing since Nov 2013.

Storm Shadow will be fitted onto Typhoon tranche 2 and 3 aircraft ready to enter service with the British RAF in 2018.

In the deep attack role Eurofighter Typhoon will carry 2 Storm Shadow missiles whilst maintaining the ability to carry 8 air-air missiles.

The bunker busting Storm Shadow was extensively employed by Britian and France during military operation in Afghan and Libya.
Currently, Storm Shadow is integrated onto RAF Tornado GR4, Italian Tornado IDS, French Rafale, Saab Gripen and Dassault Mirage 2000.

Storm Shadow is a long range, all-weather, high precision, stand-off cruise missile with a approximate operational range of 500 km (310 mi).
Powered by a Turbomeca Microturbo TRI 60-30 turbojet engine, producing 5.4 kN thrust, the terrain hugging flight path impart stealth to the missile.
