Fokker Aerostructures has signed an agreement with Northrop Grumman for the delivery of the in-flight opening doors for Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Lightning II. The agreement was signed at the Farnborough International Airshow.
Deal makes Fokker responsible for the manufacturing of the in-flight opening doors for the next batch of aircraft in low rate initial production lots 8 and 9.
The 20 doors and hatches of the F-35 are subject to extreme demands during operations. They must be opened and closed at high speeds and under extreme conditions (heat, cold).

Fokker Aerostructures other than In-flight opening doors supplies Flaperons, Titanium engine parts, Arresting Gear for F-35.
Fokker's sister company Fokker Elmo was recently awarded the contract for the complete F-35 wiring and inter connection systems.
