JSM at Farnborough 2014
Kongsberg signed a contract with the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organization (NDLO) for the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) Phase III development.

This contract comprises production of test missiles, to be used in the integration activities including test equipment.

The contract also includes missile testing and qualification to be performed on the F-16 fighter in the 2015 to 2017 period until the F-35 Block IV becomes available.
JSM development work began in 2008 and will be completed in 2017.
The JSM missile system is a autonomous, long-range, precision missile designed to engage high-value, well-defended targets at sea and ashore.
The F-35 can carry two JSMs in its internal bays, while additional missiles could be carried externally.

During the recently concluded Farnborough Airshow, Raytheon and Kongsberg have signed a teaming agreement to develop the Joint Strike Missile (JSM) for the air-launched Offensive Anti-Surface Warfare (OASuW) role.
