U.S. State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale of AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles to Israel, along with associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an estimated $544 million.
The deal consists sale of up to 600 AIM-9X-2 Sidewinder Block II All-Up-Round Missiles, 50 CATM-9X-2 Captive Air Training Missiles, 4 Dummy Air Training Missiles, containers, missile support and test equipment, provisioning, spare and repair parts.
The missiles will equip Israeli Air Force F-16 and F-15 fighters.
