Aircraft Equipment, part of Russian Rostec Corporation, has successfully completed a major trial of its new PBS-950U (Bakhcha-U-PDS) multi-dome parachute landing system.
The PBS-950U system is designed to airdrop the new BMD-4M infantry fighting vehicle, along with its crews weighting up to 14,500 kilograms, from an Ilyushin Il-76 strategic transport aircraft.

The system will be delivered to Russian Armed Forces, after passing all phases of testing.
The Bakhcha-U-PDS consists of suspension, depreciation, and parachute systems. It includes 11 parachute blocks, each of which covers an area of 350 square meters.
“The innovative solutions used in developing the airdrop equipment are based on the principles of a forced boost,” explained Aircraft Equipment CEO Maxim Kuzyuk. “This principle guarantees that the depreciation system will be filled with air, ensuring the reduction of acceleration to acceptable levels for landing. This will also allow the crew to carry out combat missions immediately after landing.”
Aircraft Equipment is the leading Russian developer of cargo airdrop equipment.
