Lockheed Martin delivered the improved version 2.0 of the F-35's Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) that improve maintenance and support logistics of the fleet.

The ALIS enable F-35 maintainers to plan ahead for maintainence and sustain the platform over the life cycle, through logistics and operational data analysis.

The ALIS integrates preventative maintenance, flight scheduling, mission planning system, prognostics, supply chain, customer support services, training and technical data.
The Windows based version 2.0 ALIS software will be installed at all F-35 locations and deployed for military operations beginning in 2015, after validation at test sites.

The improved version can download data three times faster, taking just 15 minutes to download the data from F-35 after a flight. It also provides each nation flying the F-35 with advanced reporting features for fleet management and trend analysis.

The ALIS version 1.0 is currently operating at nine locations supporting more than 12,000 sorties to date. Compared to previous aircraft, a higher fidelity of information about the F-35 fleet is tracked within ALIS to reduce operations and maintenance costs and increase aircraft availability.

The U.S. Marine Corps initial operational capability is planned for July 2015, followed by the U.S. Air Force and Navy in 2016 and 2018, respectively.
