A U.S. Air Force pilot was killed when an F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed during a non combat-related flight on Nov. 30 at approximately 11 p.m. EST.

The aircraft was returning to an unspecified base in the Middle East shortly after take-off, in support of Operation Inherent Resolve against ISIL. The crash did not occur in Iraq or Syria.

The dead pilot has been identified as Capt. William H. Dubois, 30, of New Castle, Colorado. He was assigned to the 77th Fighter Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.
