Russian manufacturer of the Buk air defense missile system, Almaz Antey has rejected the Dutch Safety Board investigation report into the crash of Malaysian Airlines MH17 over eastern Ukraine in July 2014.

Company says the investigation and trials carried out by it confirms, the missile system was an older version of the Buk, currently not manufactured in Russia.

The company carried out two detonations trials in July and October, involving Buk missiles near aluminum panels and the cockpits of decommissioned Ilyushin Il-86 passenger airliners, which confirmed its stand.

Almaz Antey claims the missile used was an older 9M38 which was last manufactured by Soviet Union in 1986.

The type had a shelf life of 25 years, and was decommissioned from Russian Military inventory in 2011.
