A U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft has crashed in Afghanistan on Thursday midnight.
At least eleven people were reportedly killed in the crash, which happened shortly after taking off from the Jalalabad airfield, close to border with Pakistan.
Six military personnel and five civilian contractors were killed in the crash.
The aircraft was assigned to the 774th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, which is part of the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing.
Taliban claimed it shot down the four engined airlifter, but it is yet to be confirmed by U.S. officials.
This will be the second crash involving the type this year, after an Indonesian Air Force C-130H crashed in July, killing around 140 people.
