The ab intio training will be given on the turboprop SR22, after which student will graduate to the jet engine powered Embraer Phenom 100 for intermediate training.

Emirates airline has placed order for 22 advanced SR22, with delivery extending from 2017 to the end of 2018.

The delivery of the five Phenom 100E business jets, plus options for five more aircraft, are scheduled to begin in 2017. The deals are estimated to cost $39 million.

Both aircraft in the Emirates airlines livery debuted during the Dubai Airshow,8-12 November, 2015.

The SR22 equipped with Cirrus Perspective™ avionics by Garmin®,  feature two large 12 inch flight displays, a Flight Management System (FMS) keypad controller, plus integrated engine indication and crew alerting systems. The flight deck includes an automatic flight control system (AFCS) and flight director as well as ADS-B NextGen capabilities.

The one tonne aircraft can carry a useful load of 600 kg and is powered by a Continental 310 hp pistion engine.

Each aircraft is also equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic stability system similar to the envelope protection systems Emirates has on its air transport fleet.

Cirrus standard safety equipment, such as the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System®(CAPS®) and composite structures, will also allow these future Emirates pilots to train day in and day out with the best safety.

The Phenom 100E was designed for high utilization and offers an integrated state of the art cockpit, docile flying characteristics, lower maintenance and operating cost, making it ideal for flight training.

The Phenom is already flying in flight schools in U.S., Finland and Australia.

The Phenom 100E has a four-occupant range of 1,178 nautical miles (2,182 km), with NBAA IFR reserves. With a high-speed cruise of 390 knots, the Phenom 100E is one of the fastest jets in its class, with operating costs comparable to that of leading turboprop aircraft.

The Phenom 100E also features multi-function spoilers, and the aircraft is capable of flying at 41,000 feet (12,500 m), powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW617F-E engines with 1,695 pounds of thrust each.

The EFTA is under construction and will be able to train up to 500 cadets at a time. The first phase of construction will be completed in 2016.

Emirates is also looking to buy a single aisle aircraft, either a Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 aircraft for the flight training.
