Eurofighter revealed, it is studying potential integration of the MBDA Marte-ER anti-ship missile on its Typhoon multi -role combat jet, following customer interests.

The company released an image during the Dubai Airshow showing an Italian Typhoon fitted with the six Marte-ER missiles, along with air to air missiles.

These integration come beyond the P2E and P3E capability enhancements currently being carried out.

The all weather capable Marte-ER weighs 315 kg, has a diameter of 316 mm and length of 3.6 meter. The turbofan engine powered missile have a sea skimming flight profile and have a range of more than 100 km.

The fire and forget missile have autonomous mid-course guidance system and flies at high subsonic speed, greater than Mach 0.80.

The 3rd generation missile is already in service with the Italian Navy NFH90 and AW101 helicopters.

Other potential weapon of interest include the Raytheon Small Diameter Bomb II (SDB II) precision guided glide bomb. The tri-mode seeker of the 250 lb SDB II can strike mobile targets from standoff distance in all weather conditions.
