Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) today jointly announced that the first flight of the first flight test aircraft of the MRJ (Mitsubishi Regional Jet), is scheduled to take place on November 11, morning local time.
Mitsubishi said utmost priority is given for flight safety and the flight schedule may change if required due to aircraft or weather conditions.
The MRJ single aisle family consist the 90 seat MRJ90 and the 70 seat MRJ70 aircraft. Both of them have common wings, empennage, engines, and systems, in addition to commonalities in pilot type rating, maintenance program, and spare parts.
The MRJ is powered by the Pratt & Whintey PW1200G engines offering 20 percent less fuel burn and reduced noise and environmental footprint.
