A Pawan Hans Airbus Helicopters Dauphin SA-365N helicopter has crashed in Arabian Sea, Mumbai, India while carrying out a training mission.

The incident happened 7:30 pm local time, while carrying out night operation training from a oil rig in the Bombay High oil field region.

The helicopter crashed shortly after taking off from a ONGC oil rig, defense official said.

The last known position of the heliocpter was 82 NM west of Mumbai.

Indian Navy has launched full scale search and rescue operation to locate the two missing crew members on board.

Indian Navy Destroyer INS Mumbai and two other Navy vessels has been dispatched for the SAR operations.
