BAE Systems will display a Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft featuring the latest weapons fit at the 2016 Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) and Farnborough International Air Show.

The aircraft piloted by BAE Systems Experimental Test Pilot Nat Makepeace at the controls, will demonstrate Typhoon carrying four Meteor Beyond Visual Range Air to Air missiles, two Brimstone 2 low collateral precision strike weapons, two ASRAAM short range air to air missiles and two Paveway IV laser guided precision bombs.

The display is aimed to demonstrate Typhoon's agility and maneuverability even with this heavy multi-role payload.

Integration of the radar guided Meteor BVRAAM developed by MBDA, and Storm Shadow air to ground standoff cruise missile is part of the Phase 2 Enhancements that will improve Typhoon's long range attack capability.

The Phase 2 trials are continuing and will be available for introduction to the current fleet by end of 2017.

Phase 3 Enhancements will introduce a low collateral precision strike air-to-surface capability to Typhoon through that Brimstone missile, which has been proven against both static and moving/manoeuvring targets.

Phase 1 Enhancements were delivered on to the aircraft last year, underlining Typhoon as a high-end multi-role weapon system with unmatched air-to-air capability and the integration of Paveway IV for precision air-to-surface operations.
