Leornado unveiled the multi-role version of its M-346 advanced trainer aircraft dubbed the M-346FT at the Farnborough airshow in UK.



The M-346 FT (Fighter Trainer) variant integrates a wide range of systems and sensors for tactical support and air defense, a tactical data link, a self defense system, recognition and targeting sensors and a series of weapon systems.

The aircraft is equipped with four wing weapon stations than can be integrated with air-to-air missiles, gun pod, GBU-12 and GBU-49 laser-guided bombs, joint direct attack munitions. An under belly station can carry reconnaissance  pod.

This aircraft’s configuration is representative of a basic version with operational capabilities that can be integrate with additional sensors in the future.

Development of the aircraft will be completed within 2 years, and the configuration will be available to existing customers for retrofitting.

A total of 68 M-346 trainers have been ordered by the Air Forces of Italy (18), Singapore (12), Israel (30) and Poland (8) and it has been selected by the United Arab Emirates.
