Analysis of the cockpit voice recorder of the crashed EgyptAir flight MS804 has revealed onboard smoke in the lavatory and avionics bay of the aircraft, consistent with the ACARS message.

The CVR records cockpit sounds including pilot conversations and alarms.

The retrieved Flight Data Recorder has captured the entire flight, since its take off from French charles de gaulle airport until the recording had stopped at an altitude of 37 thousand feet where the accident occurred.

Some recovered wreckage parts of the front section of the aircraft also showed signs of high temperature damage and soot, according to Egyptian aircraft accident investigation committee.

The Airbus A320 crashed in the eastern Mediterranean sea en route from Paris to Cairo on 19 May. All 66 people on board were killed. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
