A Peruvian Airlines Boeing 737 passenger jet, veered off the runway and crashed while attempting to land at the Francisco Carle Airport in Jauja, Peru.

The Flight P9110 originated from the Lima and was carrying 141 people onboard. All the passengers were evacuated safely without any major injuries, the Airline said in a statement.

The aircraft veered off the runway suspected to be due to a landing gear problem. The right wing and the engine had struck the ground causing fuel leakage, which initiated the fire that engulfed the aircraft shortly after.

Images and videos shows the aircraft resting on its belly, with the all landing gear in collapsed condition.

The Boeing 737-300 aircraft with registration OB-2036 was 25 years old according to the airline.
