U.S. State Department has approved a Foreign Military Sale of Anti-Radiation Missiles to Australia, worth $137.6 million.

Australia has requested sale of up to seventy AGM-88B High Speed Anti-Radiation Missiles (HARM) Tactical Missiles and up to forty AGM-88E Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missiles (AARGM), and other associated support equipment and services.

These missiles will arm the 12 new Electronic Attack EA-18G Growler aircraft acquired by Royal Australian Air Force.

The Raytheon HARM is a anti-radar missile that home into the electronic transmissions from a radar and have a range of 150 km. HARM's primary mission is to suppress or destroy surface-to-air missile radar and radar-directed air defense artillery systems.

The Orbital ATK AARGM is an improved version of the HARM with enhanced capabilities intended to counter radar shutdown and passive radar using an additional active millimeter wave seeker.
