Pakistan have reportedly ordered an additional batch of Aselpod targeting pods from Turkish Aselsan according to a disclosure released by the company.

The contract valued at $25 million include supply and integration of the Aselpod electro-optical targeting system on the Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jets.

The multi-sensor Aselpod will enable fighter jets to carry out reconnaissance, surveillance and targeting missions.

Externally mounted, the Aselpod weighs 240 kg and consists of a high resolution forward looling infra-red (FLIR), laser target designator/range finder.

Under a similar deal in 2016, Aselsan had already delivered eight Aselpod to Pakistan. The Aselpod will enable PAF JF-17 to carry laser guided bombs and strike targets with superior precision in day and night.
