In retaliation to June 7 terrorist attacks in Tehran, Iran carried out multiple ballistic missile strikes against ISIS positions in eastern part of Syria.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched 6 medium range ballistic missiles against terrorist camps in Deir Ez-zor from IRGC aerospace force’s bases in Iran’s western provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan.

Iran claimed several terror infrastructures destroyed in the attack, which where confirmed by live footage transmitted by UAVs flown over the area.

The aerial distance from Iranian missile launch sites to the target is around 600 km.

One of the photo indicating the missile launch (above) is that of the Zolfaqar ballistic missile which have a range of 700-750 km and Circular Error Probability of 5-10 meters, featuring distinctive fins on warhead.

If successful, the attack proves the credibility of Iranian ballistic missiles, and could boost Iran's ballistic missile deterrence.
