One of the engine of a United Airlines passenger jet caught fire after landing at the Denver International Airport on Sunday.

The left General Electric CF34 turbofan engine of Bombardier CRJ 700 caught fire while taxiing after landing.

The United Express flight UA5869 from Aspen to Denver was carrying 59 passengers and crew members.

All passengers and crew were safely evacuated swiftly and no one was injured.

In 2012, FAA has ordered repair to the CF34 engines powering the CRJ 700/900 and Embraer 170/175 aircraft following two engine fire incidents.

An engine bleed valve was found to be cause of the two engine fires, one of which was similar to the Sunday incident, which also happened after landing.

The flight was operated by Skywest Airlines. The airline serves as a feeder airline, operating under contract with various major carriers.

It flies as SkyWest Airlines in a partnership with Alaska Airlines, as United Express on behalf of United Airlines, as American Eagle on behalf of American Airlines, and as Delta Connection on behalf of Delta Air Lines.
