United Airlines have delayed introduction of new generation Airbus A350 wide body passenger jets into fleet, which were slated for 2018.

The Chicago based carried announced delivery of the first four A350 aircraft will be deferred to 2019, amid speculation of cancelling the Airbus order.

The airline ordered 35 Airbus A350s in 2009, as a replacement to the Boeing 747 jumbo jets being retired from fleet in 2017. In January, United management revealed decision to replace the Boeing 747-400 fleet with Boeing 777-300ER, fueling the speculation of order cancellation.

United also revealed plans to accelerate 12 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft delivery into 2019 and two 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft within 2019.

The company have also converted 100 of its current Boeing 737 MAX aircraft orders into Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft and expects to take delivery of the aircraft starting in late 2020.
