A U.S. Marine Corps KC-130 aerial tanker/transport aircraft crashed in Mississippi on Monday evening, killing all the sixteen USMC personnel onboard.
The aircraft crashed in LeFlore County, Miss., on July 10 at approximately 4 p.m. CDT.
The flight originated from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina.
Federal Aviation Administration officials contacted the Marine Corps when the aircraft disappeared from air traffic control radar over Mississippi.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time; the incident is under investigation USMC said in a statement.

The KC-130J is a modified Lockheed Martin C-130J Super Hercules four engine turboprop aerial refuelling aircraft. It can refuel from helicopters to the latest F-35B Lightning II stealth fighter. It can also configured for troop and cargo transportation.
According to witness, one of the engine of the aircraft exploded with a loud boom and was smoking as the aircraft spiralled out of control before impacting the ground.
Videos show the wing of the aircraft which holds the fuel tanks blazing.
