A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 skidded off while taxing at the Baltimore-Washington International Airport in Maryland.

The aircraft skidded sideways on the taxiway while it was about to turn 180 degree into the runway for take off, at 10:00 am in the morning.

Passengers on board were informed by pilots through intercom, that the aircraft had indeed hit ice.

The 3 hour 25 minute Flight WN 906 carrying 143 passengers and crew was bound to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

The incident aircraft is a new Boeing 737-800 (N8523W) first flown in January 2017 and powered by two CFM 56 engines.
