The first prototype of Russia’s next-generation unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) has been spotted undergoing ground tests at the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Organization (NAPO) in central Russia.
The stealthy Sukhoi-developed Okhotnik (hunter) combat drone features a blended wing design, similar to its European and US counterparts nEUROn and Northrop Grumman X-47B respectively.
The Okhtonik leverages Sukhoi's stealth capability developed for Su-57 stealth fighter. The engine and landing gear are borrowed from Sukhoi Su-30 fighter family.
The aircraft is presumed to be a 15 ton class fighter. It is powered by a single AL-31 turbofan engine that powers the Su-30 family.
