A UPS Boeing 747 Cargo plane was landed back at the Hong Kong Intl airport, after experiencing an in-flight engine fire accident.
The outer port side General Electric GEnx-2B turbofan caught fire shortly after taking off from the airport, flight bound to Dubai. The aircraft made a safe overweight landing and the airport fire trucks put out the flames.
The rather new aircraft (N624UP) was inducted to UPS fleet in December 2020.
