China on Saturday completed two more ground slide tests for its indigenous military transport aircraft Y-20, following its successful maiden flight in January 2013.
The large wide-body, four-turbofan engine-powered, high-wing and high T-tail configured military transport is being developed by the Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Company Ltd.
It has a maximum payload capacity of 66 tonnes, with a maximum take off load of 200 tonnes.
The fuselage is 47 meters long, has a wingspan of 45 meters and a height of 15 meters.
According to its chief designer Tang Changhong who once served as the chief designer for Chinese fighter-bomber JH-7A, the Y-20 has a traditional layout using tricycle landing gear and two 90-degree-deflecting wheels on the nose gear.
The official codename of the aircraft is Kunpeng, named after a legendary bird in Chinese mythology that can fly thousands of miles.
