The newly launched Saudi Arabian national carrier, SaudiGulf Airline, wholly owned by Abdul Hadi Al Qahtani Group has signed a firm contract with Airbus for four Airbus A320ceo jets, to be delivered early 2015.

SaudiGulf plans to begin its operations out of Dammam, in the first quarter of 2015 followed by Riyadh and Jeddah.

The A320s will be equipped with fuel saving sharklet (winglets) wing-tip devices that cut the aircraft’s fuel burn and emissions by up to four per cent on longer sectors. They are made from light-weight composites and are 2.4 meters tall.
Dammam-based Al Qahtani Aviation Company has also signed a firm purchase agreement with Bombardier for 16 CS300 aircraft with options for an additional 10 in Jan 2014.
