British Royal Navy's HMS Tireless nuclear submarine has arrived in the southern Indian Ocean to assist in the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

HMS Tireless's advanced underwater listening capabilities will be used to detect the pings from the black box which is expected to die on April 7.

HMS Tireless is the third of the seven Trafalgar-class submarines operated by British Navy.

Australia said today, 10 aircrafts and nine ships searched an area of about 237,000 square kilometres, about 1500kms west north-west of Perth, with no sightings of MH370 debris.

The Chinese 17th escort naval fleet has arrived at the south of Christmas Island of Australia on Tuesday to undertake search operations.
