Bell 407GXP to be assembled in Russia

Bell Helicopters has signed an agreement with Ural Works of Civil Aviation (UWCA) for final assembly of Bell 407GXP helicopters in Russia.

Bell Helicopters has signed an agreement with Ural Works of Civil Aviation (UWCA) for final assembly of Bell 407GXP helicopters in Russia.


Under the agreement, UWCA will also purchase no of Bell 407 GXP helicopters.

The Bell 407GXP helicopters are planned to be delivered to UWCA by the end of 2015 from Bell and final assembled at the UWCA facility in Yekaterinburg.

Derived from the Bell 407GX platform, the Bell 407GXP has an additional 50 lbs (22.5 kg) of payload capability, coupled with the new M250 Rolls-Royce engine that improves performance and fuel efficiency delivering class leading hot and high performance.

The aircraft is also equipped with new avionics features such as a hover performance calculator improvement, as well as a transmission TBO extension of +500 hours that will lower maintenance costs.

It has a Max Gross Weight of 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) and has a maximum speed of 140 kts (259 km/h).
Maximum range is 337 nm (624 km) with a four hour endurance. It can seat seven passengers.
