Less than two years after its first flight, Dassault Aviation has delivered the first Falcon 8X ultra long range business jet to the Athens based Amjet from its Bordeaux-Merignac facility.

Derived from the Falcon 7X, the triple engined business jet can fly 6,450 nm or 11,945 km, allowing it to fly passengers comfortably from Beijing to New York, Hong Kong to London or Los Angeles to Moscow nonstop.

The 13 m long and 2.34 m wide cabin can comfortably seat up to 8 passengers with a possible 30 layouts.

While current airliners and even some business jets have cabin altitudes of 6,000 to 8,000 ft, the 8X have a comfortable 3,900 ft cabin pressurization while cruising at 40,000 feet. Noise level is also low at a whisper-quiet 52 dB.

With a maximum take off weight of 33,113 kg, the Falcon 8X is powered by three Pratt & Whitney Canada PW307D turbofan engines rated at 6,722 lb / 29.9 kN each.

The engine have 5 percent more thrust than the PW307As that equip the Falcon 7X.

The flight test program and EASA, FAA certification involved three prototypes, which totaled 833 flight hours over 408 flights.

Certification followed a month-long round the globe operating test campaign intended to ensure aircraft systems would be fully mature and operational from day one.

Further deliveries are anticipated over the coming weeks to customers in a dozen countries, from Brazil, the U.S. and Europe, to the UAE and India.

Another 11 aircraft are in final assembly in Mérignac and 16 are being outfitted and painted at our corporate completion facility in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Little Rock facility recently underwent a $60 million expansion to enable it to handle the planned influx of Falcon 8X trijets.

The 8X was unveiled in May 2014 at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition and first flew on February 6, 2015.

The cockpit is equipped with EASy flight deck which can be integrated with an optional Head-Up-Display that can blend synthetic and enhanced vision capabilities offering unprecedented situational awareness during low visibility conditions.

Maximum certified flight altitude is 51,000 ft / 15,545 m.

Based in Athens, Greece, Amjet offers fleet management, charter, sales and maintenance/repair services and operates a full line of Falcon jets, including the super midsized Falcon 50, the long range Falcon 900EX EASy and the very long range Falcon 7X.
