Contract to upgrade French Army Airbus Helicopters Tiger HAD attack helicopters has been signed between OCCAR, Airbus Helicopters and TDA Armements on 15 December 2016.

Under the contract, French Army Aviation's fleet of 24 Tiger HAD helicopters will be upgraded to the Mark II configuration.

The Mark II configuration will add new capabilities like integration of TDA RPM laser guided rockets and a new GPS SAASM (Selective Availability Anti-spoofing Module) receiver with TopSheild CRPA anti-jamming system developed by Thales.

The contract covers development, production and support of the upgrade program. The first upgraded helicopter will be delivered in mid 2020. The production will last until end of 2023.

French Tiger HAD is equipped with optronic sighting system, the capability to target and launch Hellfire air-to-surface missiles, an evolved electronic warfare suite, and an IFF (identification, friend or foe) interrogation system.
