Syrian Air Force Sukhoi Su-24 bomber aircraft was shot down East of Damascus, Syria by Jaish Tahrir Sham militants while performing a ground strike.
According to Al-Masdar News, the aircraft fell into territory controlled by Syrian government forces.
The Sukhoi Su-24, codenamed "Fencer" by NATO, is a supersonic, twin-engine, all-weather attack aircraft. It carries a crew of two: the pilot and a weapons system operator.
